The War Over Life
The History of Merestä
The history of the continent Merestä begins with a wizard in a far away land. His name was Metsä Velho the eldest of a council that ruled over the great city of Kiven Silmään. When a plague broke out among the people and terrorized the land, Metsä left on a ship manned by a crew of about thirty men. After being at sea for what seemed like ages, the supplies dwindled and many men perished. As thoughts of the end drawing near filled the minds of all who were on the ship, suddenly Metsä sees what he believes to be a mountain rising up through the water. As they continue onwards, land slowly rises up around them. The ship comes to a stop on the new ground and the crew eagerly withdraws. The men hear whispers that continuously grow stronger and they see flora and fauna springing up around them. They can feel the power around them surging through the air and their bodies. The power those men felt that day gave them and their people the gift of long life. When the natives of the new land showed themselves to Metsä and his people, they submitted to him and his knowledge, making him their king and his men their lords. The natives built a tower, Korpin Siiven, as a gift to him. The tower is named after and built using parts of Metsä’s ship. The wood on the inside of the tower is made from the ship, while the outside of the tower is made from local stone. Each of the new Lords were given a city to rule and protect.
